School Trips

Children are given the opportunity to learn about the world around them through a wide variety of excursions. Trips are linked to the curriculum and are a valuable part of children’s learning. Not only do children enhance their subject knowledge on trips out of school, but they learn key life skills such as teamwork and independence.

Excursions begin in Nursery and as our children progress through the school, we make the most of the museums, historical sites and places of interest within the local area and further afield. Recent trips include visits to Windsor Castle, the Tutankhamun Exhibition, Romsey Abbey, Butser Ancient Farm and Stratford-upon-Avon.

Residential trips begin in Year 4 and are an important part of children’s education and vital to their social development. Children are given the opportunity to experience outdoor pursuits during trips to Dartmoor and Shropshire. Highlights of the children’s time at Stroud include the Year 5 visit to the Isle of Wight, the trip to France in Year 6, and a bi-annual skiing trip for pupils in Year 4 to 6.

In addition to our programme of trips; throughout the year there are numerous visits to school from musicians, theatre groups, Roman Centurions, Medieval Knights and Vicious Vikings!
