Matrons

“It’s brilliant that the School have Matrons.
We have used them for advice and it is very reassuring to have them.”

At Stroud we cater for pupils with varied medical needs and have medical cover during the school day, during matches at the weekend and on residential school trips as needed. Our Matrons (who are are registered nurses) and our highly skilled pastoral team ensure all pupils receive the support they need to thrive on their journey through the school.

Parents will be required to fill out medical forms for their child, upon entry to the School, to notify the nursing team of any medical needs or allergies. These records will be maintained on a day-to-day basis and kept confidential.

We have two matrons here at Stroud School:

Sarah Keith qualified as a Registered General Nurse at The Middlesex Hospital London in 1983. She has worked in hospitals in the UK and abroad and also as a Practice Nurse in Winchester for 12 years. She originally joined Stroud in 2005 and officially retired in 2019. However she has returned to Stroud for one day a week stating she missed it too much and is very pleased to be back!

Trish Tanner qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1991 from Barnet School of Nursing, London. Since qualifying she quickly specialised in Critical Care Nursing and after over 12 years in various Intensive Care Units, she further specialised into the field of Organ Donation and Transplantation.Trish joined Stroud in 2017 and also continues to work at Salisbury District Hospital ICU.
