Queen Elizabeth II 1926-2022

It is with deep sadness that the staff and pupils of Stroud School, King Edward VI Preparatory School learn of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

By virtue of our Senior School, we have a long and noble connection to the British royal family, with the Tudor King Edward VI granting a royal charter to establish King Edward VI School in Southampton in 1553.

As with many people around the country and world, we mourn the passing of a monarch who has reigned for longer than any of the current staff or pupils at Stroud have been alive. In the coming days we will mark the death of Queen Elizabeth and provide our community with an opportunity to pay their respects.
